Regional Special: Lazio, Italy.
I Maccheroni’s Tuesday Italian Regional Special: Lazio, Italy.
Lazio, the home of Italy’s capital. Rome.
This Italian region has a great deal of history and culture that brings tourists from all over the world to visit.
Rome is home of the Vatican making it the Catholic world centre and the also the centre of Italian political life.
Although not the most “scenic” of the Italian regions, the terrain allows the locals to farm and produce superb vegetables, making them a key part of their cuisine. Roman artichokes, zucchinis and tomatoes are just a few of the popular vegetables found in traditional meals.
Pasta is a huge tradition here, with our favourites: spaghetti alla carbonara and the famous pasta arrabbiata, both originating from here.
Traditional dishes from Lazio are known for its strong flavours so finding food subtle in flavour won’t be so easy.
Come taste the foods of Lazio at I Maccheroni as we host the region at our Tuesday Night Special.
Enjoy a three-course meal for $39 pp and a glass of matching wine for only $8.
