I Maccheroni’s Tuesday Italian Regional Special : Milano, Capital City of Lombardia

Lombardia cuisine has roots in many different cultures, resulting in extravagant dishes.

Lombardy has Alpine peaks and glaciers in the North, several picturesque lakes, and the rich, irrigated Po valley in the south.

The “Lago di Garda” is Italy’s largest lake and a popular holiday destination.

Lombardia cooking traditionally uses generous amounts of butter, cream and lard, but recently has been converting recipes to olive oil. The first food to come to mind for most people is the decadent risotto alla Milanese.

We are celebrating this Italian treasure with a special regional dinner at I Maccheroni.
